Prepare to Meet God

Prepare to Meet God

Harrison Mayes was a Kentucky coal miner who was horribly injured in a mining accident and survived in order to become a legend of the American road as he planted concrete religious signs along the side of the road. Over the last couple years I have been hunting the few remaining signs in the wild and with the assistance of my Flickr friend I have been able to track down quite a few. This batch was discovered by my good friend Loungelistener.

Prepare to Meet God

As you can see Harrison Mayes would leave notes on his crosses for where they were supposed to be planted after he died (some where labeled to be planted on other planets.) This was supposed to be placed at the Suez Canal, but never made it out of his home town of Middlesboro, KY.
