As I was ill I only took a short walk this weekend but the weather was superb.

Each year in February there is a 3-day Jelly Festival in Miskolc. According to the local legend, a tired traveller ordered a plate of meat jelly in a Miskolc inn. When he was served, he saw two eyes blinking at him from the middle of the plate, those of a frog. The frog had jumped into the plate of soup in the larder and got trapped as it jellified. So during the festival you can buy meat jelly and lots of other food and drinks and there are frogs everywhere.

Minden februárban rendezik meg Miskolcon a Kocsonya-fesztivált. A helyi legenda szerint egy fogadóban egy utazó kocsonyát rendelt, majd amikor kihozták neki, azt látta, hogy egy béka pislog vissza rá a tányér közepéből. A béka a kamrában ugrott a tálba, majd benneragadt. A fesztivál alatt persze lehet kapni kocsonyát, de sok más ételt italt is, és rengeteg béka van mindenhol...
