Bamiyan Budda

    The budda was here, destroyed by the Taliban in 2001. The Bamiyan Budda is/was 125Km west of Kabul and was 50m high.

      Just recently saw a documentary on those Buddha statues at the Toronto IFF. I weep for our future when such historic structures are destroyed only to further personal agendas.

      It takes a special kind of sub-human animal to destroy these scuptures. When you destroy a piece of history, you wipe out the lives of those who lived it. When you destroy a piece of art that someone created, you are destroying the living legacy of that person for all time. That is worse than mass murder.
