A couple of ideas for ‘Soundtrack Monday’ haven’t quite worked out, yet! So, Vazon Bay is a very popular haunt for surfers. On this day there weren’t many surfing for fear of damaging the sea wall but this intrepid guy was either a world class surfer of a bit on the daft side!!! Surfing brings to mind ‘Surf’s Up’ by the Beach Boys. Couldn’t find a live version by the Beach Boys but found one by Brian Wilson and the band he put together.
The following comes from Wikipedia -
“Surf's Up is the seventeenth studio album by The Beach Boys, released in 1971. The album was released that August to more public anticipation than the Beach Boys had had for several years. It outperformed Sunflower commercially, reaching #29 in the US (their first Top 40 album since Wild Honey) and #15 in the UK. Like Sunflower, Surf's Up was released on EMI's Stateside label internationally. The album title is taken from the song with the same title written by Brian Wilson and Van Dyke Parks for the abandoned 1966–1967 Beach Boys Smile album. The song was reworked and used as part of the 2004 Brian Wilson album Smile“.
