I just love the documentation you provide for your son about the fairytale life he lived during his childhood!

Thanks a.bela, lulu and unravelling .

Randy - Nate (he's 4 1/2) often pretends he has tentacles.

Just another day for him panic-embryo.

Thank you for the invite borealnz.

Ann - it's so much fun watching his pretend world go through all these changes as his own interests change. He does pretend he's various sea creatures - squids, octopus, whales and sharks!

how lovely it would be to try on another species for size. octopus are so fascinating.....can attack in packs, highly intelligent. or maybe that's squid, or both. i love this, especially the little details off to the side, and the waiting whale.

    18. Randy Knox (54 months ago | reply)

I'll bet Nate can spin some good yarns!

Kids often innately (pun intended) have great imaginations, but maybe Nate does even more so because you are creative. Ever thought of taping some of his tales? Perhaps even surreptitiously. (Technically that is illegal in Mass. unless all parties give their consent, but as his parent you probably can give consent for him.)

Does he enjoy the photos you create with him in them?

Thanks bubs, annabelle, Paul, Mary and Paterdimakis.

Speaking of tentacles Sean - his favorite joke is "How do you make a octopus laugh? ... Ten tickles." (rimshot, cymbal crash)

Thanks for the invite artfulpurpose - a good group for this image.

Octopus are interesting pinkyhonor and he usually tells me all about them (squid too). I would have used giant squid arms but I couldn't find any old art to 'borrow.'

Hi Randy - he's quite a story teller and he does like this picture except he wants more arms and dolphins in the distance. :-) I have video taped him and my wife writes down just about everything he's said that's funny, creative and or insightful.

Kinda like a train wreck zocalo? Oh wait, that's the next picture.

    22. Aliceblueblazes (54 months ago | reply)

Yeaaaahhhh!!!! That's freakin delightful, holgaguy. Who wouldn't want more arms and dolphins in the distance, tho?

    23. holgaguy (54 months ago | reply)

That's right Alice - what was I thinking only putting eight arms on him and one lonely whale in the distance?

Fleeting Fauna needs a fresh group icon. I'm going to try this one. Just give me a hallar if you want it removed. It's really quality art.

A great low-budget 1960s Japanese movie feel to this. And octopuses are intelligent. If they lived a bit longer- they live to about 6 months- there'd be no stopping them!
