"Perhaps you are aware of this...but such wave clouds started the
UFO craze in 1948. It even came up during the recent presidential
debate when Kucinich talked about seeing a UFO when staying at Graham
WA....not far from Mt. Rainier....thanks, again, cliff"
Cliff is writing a book on Northwest Weather, and may include a few of
these shots in the book....

On a personal note, as I said on a leaf I posted today...
My daughter visiting was the color in my life the last few days,
sometimes I feel like this leaf or this cloud, holding onto my form
and structure with only a breath, like I could float away on a breeze
to become part of the seasons and time... part of nature's cycles, my
dreams providing the fertilizer for future growth...
No, I am probably not making sense, unless you also know the feeling of breathing in tune with Nature, and having a hard time remembering to hold tight to your physical form and everyday life!
Not to worry, that is not a wish to expire or a hopeless gloom, merely a rest between seasons of life, as the plants take... time to wander about and see what is next in life. Perhaps it is more of the same, but with renewed energy...
I am taking off for most of a week, doing a "drive-about" in Western Washington, and plan to spend at least one night at a Hostel I discovered on the Beach... I want to walk on the Beach, feel the wind in my hair and the smell of the salty ocean and the Bull Kelp washed in to shore... and remember times in life with loved ones who are gone now.
Yeah, that is what I shall do for now...
