überland

The view from the southbound 'Overground' platform of Shoreditch High Street station. Erect as many show-off all-glass floating-curtain-wall phallic mega-towers as you want BUT the real jewel in London's redevelopment crown is the amalgamation/extension of the East London Line, North London Line, Gospel Oak to Barking Line, West London Line, Watford Line & the South London line to form a single cohesive overground rail network.

Fuckr®

Fuckr®

Because i can, and because the force-fed [un]justified view roll-out is really getting on my throopneys. It's lazy, dictatorial programming with no meaningful user control [it relies on people being too lazy to delete their cookie & temp caches to maintain an alternate layout], plus it looks like an eff-ing road accident - photographs all smashed and rammed together in a tangled mess, big ones & little'uns, with no respect for individual works, no room to breathe. Come on you lazy Fuckrs, give us an account settings option so we can set our own default views once, instead of every bloody visit - and 'yes', I have asked for that on the technical forums.

Stik - Pitfield Street

Stik - Pitfield Street

Two for the price of one,- Stik men and some delicious door detail. This has to be one of my favourite Stik works. It's become something of a landmark too.

Stik - Pitfield Street

Stik - Pitfield Street

Classic Stik on Pitfield Street. Apparently he's come a long way,- from being homeless to being very much in demand as an acknowledged artist. Good luck to him! I know graffiti is criminal, and often abhorrently ugly, but Stik's surreal figures add a much needed sense of humour to the places they inhabit.

Les bicyclettes de Vieille Rue

Les bicyclettes de Vieille Rue

To misquote the classic Engelbert Dumpertruck song, from the equally classic 1968 Douglas Hickox short film 'Les bicyclettes de Belsize'.
