I took this image in the Lake District, UK. Initially I was going to compose the image closer to the tarn to include the reflection of Blencathra, but I found the late afternoon light on the foreground so irresistible that I decided to set up my equipment further away to include the swathes of golden reeds. I waited for the perfect mixture of light and shadow, and was eventually rewarded with the shadowy background which created a brooding mass over the sunlit tarn.
