Minolta XG1 SLR
This is another SLR that I own, the "Minolta XG1". It is from the "XG" series of SLR cameras produced my Minolta in the late 1970s. The "XG1" model was produced around 1978 to 1980.
At the time it was released, it was the only entry level SLR to have "Auto-Exposure" feature; which at the time was only available on more expensive higher-end cameras. Overall, it is a relatively standard 35mm SLR; it was originally marketed as an entry level SLR.
This camera as was given to me by my uncle a few years ago. The story goes that he got the
camera along with some darkroom equipment from a photographer; who had moved onto digital photography and wanted to get rid of some of this older camera equipment.
