    I believe this species is E. interstinctus. Starting to turn into it's hibernation colours.

    Thanks to Johan J.Ingles-Le Nobel for making a post recently talking about microfilm lenses, something I have not heard of before, but I saw the resolution on his images and thought I should give it a whirl. Especially as they are readily available and incredibly cheap.

    The colours come out of the camera a little bit lack lustre, but I prefer it that way. It's easy to give colours a little boost in post process. Most of my other lenses have a tendancy to go crazy on one colour, usually red. The lens has no mount so I just crammed it into a RMS->M42 adapter with plasticine. This is obviously a no go for field work, need to figure out a more permanent mounting solution, but this lens has certainly moved straight into my favourite few.
