Thank you for the comments, marlenells adnd btobin. If you look very closely to the sunflower on the right, you will see two parts sticking up towards the top of that sunflower. That is a butterfly landing on that sunflower.

Very nice Chrisser :) I've added a crop suggestion, which I think removes any distractions :) Admittedly it ends up with a square photo, but I think it would work ok.
Tony.

Tony, I agree with your suggestion. I can just go to one of my photo albums, turn on my all-in-one printer that is also used for scanning, scan that photo, and then crop it and then use the Replace option that is only available for Pro users and replace the photo. :-)

Hi Chrisser, if you download a program called irfanview www.irfanview.com/ it allows you to crop existing photo's and resave them with a different name. It is free too! I wouldn't replace the existing one, upload the new cropped version as a new photo, and if you like link back to the original.
If you have one of the photo editing programs like photoshop elements, paint shop pro or similar they should also allow cropping.
Tony.

Tony, I have programs like Adobe Photo Shop 5.5, Picture It! Express 7.0 I use to edit scanned photos, ArcSoft Photo Impression 4.0, Picasa 2.1, and Olympus Camedia Master 4.2 that will only work with photos taken with my digital camera.

fair enough, I thought when you said you were going to rescan, that you must use the scanning software to crop :) I keep copies on my computer of everything I have scanned, and rarely go back and re-scan stuff, unless I have learnt a new trick that will give a better result :)
Tony.

Tony, the scanning program is not for cropping. Below is the link to the cropped version of that photo.

Also, since I have permission to save any of the photos I have uploaded here, I can just simply right-click on a photo and go to Save As... where I will get a numerical filename that I can rename as a better name and use that to edit instead of scanning the photo in again. And I keep backups of my photos on CDs.

The cropped version of this photo is already in the Flower Factory pool, but isn't being removed and reposted unless the admins send a suggestion. Also, some photos where the sky is the background have the sky overcast, and that makes me unsure about posting. And there is a threat of more rain today, and that means no photos at all today. Oh well. :-)

I think the cropped version would do well too Christina,
but in fact I'm more fond of rectangular pictures!!
I love this one!!
Congratulations this an

Thanks for the comments and for posting this as an Admin Fave in Flower Factory, Sabine. I also prefer rectangular photos, but there were a few times I uploaded an exact same photo TWICE, forcing me to either save a copy and convert to black-and-white and sepia, or to save a copy, crop it and replace the second upload. I need to learn to not make these mistakes anymore. :-)
