Another of the few that actually worked to a degree!

This weekend's photo challenge was 'panning' - with Rolling Thunder happening this morning, I had the perfect opportunity to practice. Thousands and thousands of bikes riding from suburban Virginia to the Pentagon and National Mall.

I can tell you that panning is tough - even with all that practice I can't say I got much better at it! We won't talk about how many shots I deleted - and how many were keepers!

It's Memorial weekend, everyone has a three day weekend and is on the road. I have a one day 'weekend' and don't want to be on the road with everyone. So staying close to home and trying something different.

If you live in the DC area, it's not possible to miss Rolling Thunder this weekend - 500,000 motorcycles riding to the National Mall tomorrow. It's the 25th anniversary of this ride, started by Vietnam vets to remember POWs and MIAs, expanded now to honor all veterans.
