Wow, that looks very unassuming... and had I not just seen the distruction that similar looking waves (albeit bigger) had done in Japan, I would have thought nothing of it. Great shot.

Oh my God, my mom's in Hercules today. They canceled their field trip to SF. Will check on her and my bro. Nice pic. Very dramatic. Incredible. I am a native Califiornian living in CT now.

Amazing. If you didn't know better you'd think it was a tidal bore... At least it lost a lot of energy before it reached CA...

Just wondering - what is the timestamp on this? When I was looking at the bay from ~8:30 to 9am this morning, it looked so calm.

I love how the media really freaks everyone out ...hyping everything up like waves will be crashing down similar to the movie Deep Impact. And here you have a picture of a "tsunami" splashing through the SF Bay.

Thank you! I am incredibly angered that no US tv news station had good coverage/footage of this even though it was arriving in the middle of the day. Awesome shot!

A huge monster that killed hundreds, tamed by crossing an even more formidable ocean. This shot is so pretty I almost expected to see a rainbow in the sky.
