Have you considered using a creative commons license?

As opposed to my brief satement above?
What are the pros and cons?

For me, the real benefit to using a creative commons license is that we can develop a common understanding of the copyright owner's specific expectations. It helps build language. Given your Wikipedia link and the astronomical number of hits, it seems an appropriate approach. Thanks for sharing!
