me though we are not physically here, so what we do actually is
extending imaginary us in to the transitional space.
The experience completely unknown to us in our physical reality.

nothing beats face to face communication... all these primitive internet communications like im, text messaging and email can easily mislead a person... no facial cues... no tone of voice... no body language... really no SOUL...
& yet here i am typing away...

ok... i'm jaded...
people can project what they want to project behind the shield of the internet... i've read the most beautiful writings in blogs, on flickr, you name it... certain i had a glimpse of their equally beautiful souls through this transitional cyberspace... but once i did make the transition... the transition to real life... i have seen some of the darkest borderline evil souls... folks who are full of love and angels in cyberspace....yet in the harsh glare of reality abuse their children...
ok... i am jaded...
and possibly in need of a stiff shot of zoloft (extra large) LOL!!

You know if someone came back from the Paradise and said that evil is there present too, I would believe it.
I our reality there are hundreds of cases that mass murderous or rapist where kind to their neighbors (watch Ophra if you do not believe it) so presence of evil people is not exclusive to one place.
Point is, It's not only who is on the other side but who am I too.
It's our duty to be careful who we choose as a friend and some people are better in that than other.
I have met three times people from the internet, once reasonable big meeting in Brugge Belgium, my wife and kids where with me too and people from all over the world and that was one of the nicest gathering I can remember. And honestly in the reality these friends where quiet according to their presentation on the net, bit more timid but same.
So I would say the "transitional space" is good place to be I would never meet YOU if this channel was not open!

Boris....I agree with you....I'm obviously a big fan of the transitional space....all meeting places have their risks, but the transitional one is making the world a much smaller place, which I think is the most special (and much needed) thing about it .
And I've checked out Orlan's page....look forward to seeing more great work from him!

boris et al.... the internet does make the world smaller... but to me the relationships forged are more superficial than "real world" relationships... and its far easier to con a person on the internet than in person... i almost can respect the acting/sales ability of the old style con artist (the music man, sawyer on lost, etc)... the internet makes it too easy... (takes another big swig of zoloft with a lexapro chaser)
