so you've made it to Bagan. Great place, isn't it? Try and get out to Mt Popo - it's about 50km away, it's pretty cheap to hire a car and driver to take you.

tr33lo, they're mostly Buddhist pagodas constructed 800-1000 years ago.
cfimages, I've already left the Bagan area and I'm in Mandalay. With the hot dry season now, there's a lot of dust in the air and landscape shots are virtually impossible except for between 5:30-9AM and 4-6PM. Mt. Popo probably would have been a total bust right now. I've seen pictures of this area during the rainy season, when you get big clouds and bright blue skies between the rain and I actually prefer that.
