This is like a scene from Harry Potter - I like the feature of light but find it too contrived not good enough for a save

I like the mood, like the cloudburst of a huge bomb. But for me the foreground with the overly bright streetlamp destroys the effect overall. I vote to delete.

Wicky wa wa! Awesome explosion of light - looks like the epicentre of a nuclear explosion. And I know, cos I've been in plenty.

I'm with sagarmin on this one - The reality doesn't quite live up to the thumbnail.

My eye gets drawn to that bright patch on the house, not to the rest of the picture.

Yes how I love yellow light Better title "yellow light roles out". The bright light in the lower part of the picture seems to be surrounded by dark. seem odd to me. Maybe look up over the roof tops a liitle more or crop them out?

Loike the lighting. The one on the bottom near the house gives a balance to the one in the sky.

ufff! pure san fran. the thick dense fog bank looming over the homes works for me. i agree with ido1 about the balance of lighting - its a good contrast between the heavy thickness of illuminated fog and the sodium lighting of the houses in the fore.

you might have had something here if it wasn't for the color cast, perhaps the white balance is off. The lighting seems completely unnatural!

this is really a cool pict, but the light in the foreground is competing too much with the main action.

great shot. something strange is hapening in the middle of the city, and the lights balance each other.

I like this one a lot. I think the dark band at the top plays against the fog. I like the vantage point that this was shot from - it provides a nice overview of the action. The complaints about the color aren't registering this one. I don't love the color but it doesn't bother me.

However, the shot of the houses in the foreground is blown out. The presence of the streetlight there is totally distracting. It is just as bright as your main subject and much too close not to notice it. It competes for the viewers attention and in this case that is not a good thing. That street light ruins an otherwise great picture.

Extraordinary image. The streetlight doesn't bother me at all - indeed, were it not for the lighting there, the contrast between the foreground sharpness and the fog would be less distinct.

This is a great example of a "technical wow" shot that I think is worthy of saving.

i really like this image. somehow it doesn't read as fog rolling in, though. i don't know why. very cool, anyway.

saveme11. What a nice shot of the victorian houses with the SF weather to go along with it. This should be on the cover of San Francisco magazine or something. I don't get how the light can funnel down like that. beautiful!
