Oh Tina, this is such an extraordinary picture!! (and experience). Even Hans, my husband, was marvelled by this picture, and believe me; he doesn't come out of his chair to look at a picture often! According to him, and I quote: the snake will be able to digest horns and hoofs as long as it doesn't have to move fast after eating and can stay in one place for a couple of days to digest. Otherwise there's a possibility his internal organs (stomach) get punctured. But what a wonderful capture of this very extraordinary moment!!

it´s so unbelievable that a snake "enjoys" eating the deer as a whole. would it be comparable getting a camel through an eye (In german saying: Ein Kamel durch ein Nadelöhr) not sure whether that exists in english.
