I know what you are thinking. Rain? Why be thankful for the rain. One just gets all cold and wet and, frankly, driving in it is no fun. Well, besides the obvious (it helps everything grow, etc), I am thankful for the rain because it makes me slow down. Rain means fall and winter for the most part here in the PNW. With the rain comes earlier evenings. More time at home to light a fire or read a good book. Rain means movies & popcorn with my husband and kids. Rain means Thanksgiving is around the corner and that means my family will all gather to nosh and chat and the kids will run around being noisy....it's my favorite time of year, truthfully. The quieter days and nights, the family gatherings over pots of soup. It all comes with the rain.....
