Only way to get a clean horse photo is to wash them, take the picture, and watch them get muddy again.

oh, now i'm embarrassed for posting my first ever photo of a horse today alongside this beautiful portrait. i clearly need some pointers for how to do this! i LOVE horses and i was thrilled to death to find myself with the great opportunity to have horses to photograph...it was a bit overwhelming! i'd love to be able to go back and do it every day of my life! the experience was amazing even if the photos were not. i just need practice! i need a horse!
