      Thanks Eva. I like the mayhem, but the appeal of this one was too strong to resist as well. I delighted in accumulating these over a few days' stay in that hotel, once I noticed that the innermost circles had differing numbers of tiles. It took me those few days to find the "10".

      The mayhem is a nice composition with some interesting effects of false depth. But since it gave me the counting urge, this one is more helpful. There's a gap from 12 to 17 - I wonder if 13 14 and 15 are hidden elsewhere on the pavement ;-)

      I have been looking at more pictures. Thomas Hawk has a set from the Embarcadero, where these tile patterns seem to be "all over the place". The ones with few tiles in the inner circle seem to be rare.
