Leaves (Challenge 9: nature photowalk)

Leaves (Challenge 9: nature photowalk)

Here's the first image from my photowalk for the OVCC Challenge. Carter Caves is a state park not far from home and we've used it for sort of a sanctuary of escape this year. The trails are new to us and we've taken short walks and discovered new areas. I like leaves and so each fall I look for odd ones to photograph and odd patterns. I was tempted to rearrange these but have you ever noticed that the natural arrangement can't usually be duplicated.?

Remixed photo of a painting on the wall (Challenge 8: Frames)

Remixed photo of a painting on the wall (Challenge 8: Frames)

For the OVCC Frames Challenge. I guess this meets the challenge without much creativity. I shot the wall with my I-Phone while waiting on a sandwich then grunged it up some with an overlay and converted to a toned b&w, then a sloppy frame. All on the I-Phone but I have forgotten the apps.

Backlit flower (Challenge 8: Frames)

Backlit flower (Challenge 8: Frames)

This pushes the definition of the Challenge, as the subject is framed from behind. Well, that's thinking out of the box though. I started off earlier in the day by shooting the I-Phone directly into the sun and aligning the flower in front of the sun while trying to compose to make the stems appear as a frame. Not real good success. Later in the day, I brought out the macro lens and decided that I'd make a bokeh frame with the sun filtering through the trees from behind.

For the OVCC challenge: converted to BW with the PS Channel Mixer, blue channel (the old fashioned channel mixer not the BW filter).
