I had nails like that in the States once - but only for one night and they were strictly the Lee-press-on-nail type. It was also Halloween and decided that going as myself was too scary so I wore a costume.

Nice shot - have been meaning to visit Newcastle it having been a near neighbour for nearly 14 years. If I get my butt in gear one day soon I will look out for this scary being.

      Very freaky, but cool!

I have a shot of Newcastle's Vampire Bunny, too, Leo, though I think this is a better shot! My zoom was only so-so at the time.

I think both are menacing for different reasons - Leo's has a direct head-on stare and close up - while yours is smaller but waiting to pounce on us from above (and sometimes small is scary too :-)

This must have inspired the Monty Python rabbit in the Holy Grail

Thanks everyone for the views, comments and favs. Much appreciated :)

There is a school of thought that says it's a hare rather than a rabbit.

I disliked Newcastle on my first visit. Totally different vibe this time round. Loved it.

I cropped close. I'd like to visit again with a better zoom to get the claws and teeth close-up.

I haven't seen that mentioned before. Maybe another avenue for the vampire rabbit researchers.

That's a super picture of the vampire rabbit/hare :) ! Would you mind if I turned it into a small icon for use on Livejournal?

My rabbit seems to own me
      It has a deadly touch
      At night it travels swiftly
      And leaves an empty hutch.
