last weekend we made a trip to add to our flock of chickens and have a little getaway from the fast and sink down into the slow for a bit.
we made a much too short trip to a cheesery on the island,
where we ate our fill of chevre samples,
and purchased some scrumptious cheese to bring home, and visited the
babies...
there were several goat kids and lambs in the barn.
these were the healthiest little ones and so well cared for. we talked with the man who tended the animals and i got swept up once again in fantasies of tending a small flock of my own. babies will do that.

instant favorite babe !
there's an organic farm nearby that makes goat cheese amongst other things, and when the baby goats come to the world in the spring it is hard not to come home without adopting one or ... several of them ! (but our back yard is not ready for that ! not yet !)

Oh how sweet! I've long wanted a goat, but they are not allowed in the village unfortunately.
