Pin-Sharp (Vertorama)

Location: On a wheat-farm near Durbanville.

Description: I shot this Vertorama at sunset yesterday with a Sigma 10-20mm ultra-wide lens... and all I can say is WOW!

Even hand-held at 1/30th of a second, this lens produces noticeably sharper results than I ever achieved with my Sony 11-18mm (which broke recently and is now in the repair shop).

Earlier this week one of my local Flickr contacts offered me his lens for a very reasonable price… thanks to you John, my photographs can only get better with this new glass!

Check out all the pin-sharp details here.

    Equipment: Sony Alpha 100 (10-20mm ultra-wide)

    Date: April 2008

Argh, when you had the 11mm I could fool myself that it was the lens that made the difference, now you have the same lens as me I have nowhere to hide. I am off to practise...

Great shot as always, you have a great eye for these things.

Welcome to the Sigma-team, boet :))
So, is the 11mm beyond economical repair? Warranty?
Or did you just get gatvol and spring for the Sigma?
Either way I'm glad for you!

Hey Andre... naah, it's a warranty repair... but you know that I was never really happy with the sharpness of the Sony ultra-wide... and I've heard and seen sooooo many good things about the Sigma... and the price was just soooo good... that I simply couldn't turn it down!

Pin sharp indeed! I've also bought the Sigma10-20mm for the D300. Got this new toy yesterday, can't wait to go out with it and shoot!

I was thinking that you could go pro, starting with the agricultural sector. Agri corporates and insurers and such. They must need photies for newsletters, reports and prospecti, etc?
