Cable Grist Mill ~ Cades Cove Tennessee

A view of the old Cable grist mill in Cades Cove, Tennessee, inside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The scenic old mill was built in the 1870's and as you can see, is being kept in a good state of repair. I was only able to spend a couple of short hours in the park and could have stayed a week to take in all the scenic and natural beauty of this wonderful place. Hope you all are having a great week!

Oh gosh! Explore #5 on July 21, 2010! Tied with my cardinal image for the highest rank of any of my photos on Explore! Thanks to each and every one of you for your comments, faves and views! This old mill really is a treasure of our nation's heritage! And a special thanks to my friend Jerry Jaynes, who has the best photos of old grist mills. His photo of Cable Mill and others inspired me to go and see this!

I was just writing at someone that posted a water mill,
in my home town were I was born we had one that was milling
grain and make flour for the public, unlike here the grind only for
      big companies,
This is just brought back so muck memories,
Brilliant capture as usual my friend!
