Emerald Tree Boa (Corallus Caninus) taken with Nikkor 55-300mm at 1/125sec F/5.6 300mm ISO/400.

I am very excited about today. While for the better part of the day I will be reviewing contracts this evening I am going to watch the new Underworld film in 3D and after that I will rush home because UFC is holding an event for free tonight on FX at 9pm. It is going to be an action packed night. Also everyone wish my wife good luck on her board exams today.

Taking a Breather

Taking a Breather

Floridian West Indian manatee (Trichechus manatus latirostris)

Taken with Nikkon 18-55mm in underwater housing bag. I have to tell you this was some of the toughest conditions I have ever shot in. Not only is it hard to look through the viewfinder with goggles on but breathing threw my mouth the whole time was throwing me off. Some of the photos I took this day I was not even looking through the viewfinder I was just pointing and shooting, taking a lot of shots hoping some gold would turn up. Most of the Manatees were in the river and only a few would stay in the spring were I could get clear shots but hey I came to take photos and by goodness I was just going to wait for something interesting to happen. I liked this picture, I would rather have the whole animal present but I will take what I can get. The closer you are to these guys the clearer the photo since at a distance the particulate in the water will blur your shot. Even with the wide angle shooting these wide-bodied mammals can sure fill up the frame and then some.
