Vintage Grocery Bags

Vintage Grocery Bags by BACKYard Woods Explorer.
These were saved accidently. They range from about '66 to '73. Once I decided to keep this batch, I kept several bags from the 80's as well.

These are neat. I don't think I've been asked paper or plastic at our grocery stores in awhile. They just toss and mash everything into plastic bags. We used these for bookcovers in school.

Amazing. Were they under some linoleum flooring or something? They're in excellent condition.

They've been laying flat in a box on a shelf all these years.

sweet - I love old graphics - these are one thing that do pop up once in awhile - how many people put some grocery bags in a closet to use later - now - put some other stuff in the closet on top of it for 30 years -and viola - instant collection - I have one with Julia Childs on it announcing her new PBS show from 1979 - its all beat up - Ill have to find it - maybe we need to make a "grocery bag" group....hehe

Other than my own, I haven't seen very many. A few on yard sales and flea markets, but they were all beat up, and were usually Acme or Shop Rite, and I already had them. As you can see from the photo, mine are perfect, from being stored in the basement all these years.

I never thought of it as a fish, but you're right. That was their best logo.

It kinda reminds me of Jesus fish pins on cars.
