where you find these one molds? Below trunks of trees? You must perhaps seek for these one very near of lakes, rivers, i.e. wet regions...

    21. myriorama (71 months ago | reply)

omeuceu, i find them usually after a good rain, during warm weather, on dead wood, but sometimes even on leaves (living and dead), leaf stems, pine needles and sweetgum balls. start inspecting dead wood during these conditions, i'll bet you'll find some! also check moist corners, under loose bark etc.

I knew that. :) I was just curious with your answer. ;) But here now is getting very hot (almost 40ºC)... we need to wait for more cold weather.
      Thank you.

I usually think myxomycetes as fungi but I was wrong!!! Really, they are protists - the left overs of eukaryotic organisms.

curiousity about slime mo(u)lds: "In 2006, researchers at the University of Southampton and the University of Kobe reported that they had built a six-legged robot whose movement was remotely controlled by a Physarum slime mould. The mould directed the robot into a dark corner most similar to its natural habitat."
