Quietly

    Newer Older

Let me start by saying I am TERRIFIED of snakes. I don't care if it is a good snake or bad snake, big snake or little snake, in a photo or in front of me...I am absolutely TERRIFIED of snakes.

Which is why I shocked myself while hiking along Cheatham Battlefield a few weeks ago with the Boyfriend and his parents that I literally didn't drop everything and run screaming in terror when I spotted this black racer on the side of the trail...right next to where we were walking.

But, I managed to maintain my composure while the Boyfriend and his parents, who obviously aren't aware of the evilness of all snakes, walked around him to check him out.

Apparently he was so intensely and quietly waiting for whatever was coming out of that hole, his bloodthirsty lust to kill me was quelled...thank goodness.

I don't know if he ever caught what he was waiting for, but I can assure you that for the next hour I checked the trail behind us every couple of minutes just to make sure he wasn't stalking us...cause they do that you know? ;-)
