The Blakemore references are inescapable, especially after I have been trawling through one of my first ever photography books, Creative Camera Yearbook 1975. There were two of his sets included "Scars on Trees" and "Afon Cymru"

An awesome image Jon. For myself, I bought Blakemore's Naws Y Lle - Spirit of Place just over 30 years ago and still pull it off the bookshelves regularly to enjoy it. Good that there's such a revival of interest in his work after all this time. Perhaps it might lead to a less dramatic and more thoughtful direction for digital photography too? (Unlikely, but there's always hope!)

Just noticed that he's had an exhibition running in London - just finished on Friday ...doh!
I see there's a new book too out via Dewi Lewis Publishing. Should be good. I gather he's back at Derby teaching again too, after retiring some years ago. A moth to the flame...
