Liffey Sunset a la Nokia - Dublin, Ireland
Dublin is a Hiberno-English derivative of 'Dubh Linn' (Irish, dubh -> black, and linn -> pool), does that make Dublin the Blackpool of Ireland - i think not....
Walking to Connolly Dart Station from work - crossing the Sean O'Casey Bridge - beautiful sunset.
Bugger! No camera. But wait, i have my camera phone. The N95 camera phone strikes again!
There was a photography group on the bridge with tripods and big cameras. Piffle to them (but secretly, i'll be carrying my 5D in my bag from now on)...
June 2010 - more than 50,000 views. Thanks guys!
Thanks for viewing and making this one of the most popular photos of Dublin!

Excellent - the sunset colours make it look like somewhere else (not Dublin!). And it's a camera phone? Honestly, if you hadn't said so I wouldn't have guessed...
John of Dublin (57 months ago | reply)
My goodness Philip this is impressive. Excellent camera phone!
decsramble (57 months ago | reply)
WOW, who needs a Digital SLR and lenses when a phone can take photos like this.

Absolutely beautiful!!! Colours are wonderful for a camera phone. Great composition too, reflections are just great, very well done.

Camera phone, eh? Both my phone and my Pentax Optio are showing their age and I was going to replace them separately but seeing pictures like this makes me thinkI should check out the camera phone option. Of course, then I have to think of something to carry in the other pocket.

Basically if you put Dublin in a search then order it by Most Interesting then this is the top photo!
Tah dah!
Aw, just checked back and it's number 2 now, dElay's After Party has claimed the top spot back, it's like the singles chart, only actually interesting.

Thank you for sharing.

Thanks Kellys Green - but it was luck - right time - right place - point and shoot....

Hey, thanks for knocking me off the most interesting 'Dublin' photos top of the pops!
You really nailed it with this shot. Right time, right place is a big component of any outstanding photograph. This being no exception. The thing is though, you went 'click'... and that's the difference.
I esp. love the reflection on Liberty Hall, wow!

Quality alright...fair play. It's about time David "top-of-the-tags" Kelly got his come-uppance...
