Tamaraw Falls

Tamaraw Falls

This beautiful series of waterfalls are located about 20km out of the town of Puerto Galera. Reached by a winding motorbike trip that spirals upwards amidst white sand beaches and endless palms, the drive itself is almost equal in beauty to the prize.

Mangyan Mother and Child

Mangyan Mother and Child

Happy New Year all!
My apologies for my absence, I have spent the past few weeks in the Philippines and having lost my iPhone was technologically deprived. I loved returning to this beautiful country, and this time around we were fortunate to be able to participate in a program which provides food, clothes and toys for the Mangyan village people in the region who are very deprived of basic essentials. I was able to photograph a lot of the happenings, and a lot of what I saw saddened me deeply. However, the joy on their faces and knowing that this day was all about them was something I will not soon forget.

Jasmine

Jasmine

Three years ago I first moved to Seoul to teach English. Having the sole intention of making money to travel, I had no idea that teaching would mean so much to me and I would derive so much from these children. Three years later I am still here and enjoying myself more than ever.
Usually I wouldn't post a photo of one of my students but I figure new camera, new subjects.
(For the record, many children in Korean English private schools elect to choose 'English names' which (obviously) differ from their given Korean names, which they use while in attendance.)

A Gargantuan Leap

A Gargantuan Leap

This is the Garganta del Diablo portion of Iguazu Falls, as seen from the Argentina side. The sheer magnitude of the power expelled from these waterfalls is awe inspiring to behold.
On a different note, this is the final day with my XSi, as I am getting my first full frame camera tonight. I hope to continue on the path I have to date with travel experiences and images. I hope you enjoy.

An Eclectic Sunset

An Eclectic Sunset

While sitting in a beach side bar in Nicaragua's San Juan del Sur this diverse group of individuals enjoying the day's last rays caught my eye. Nothing too fancy, just trying to warm up on this cold December day!
