Taking this photograph was difficult for a number of reasons. Firstly, I had to burn a book. Never mind that it was in pieces, would never have been used again, and was going to be burned anyway. It was still a book, and lighting it felt so wrong in the beginning. Secondly, the fire was really intense (though it doesn't really look that way in the picture), and the wind kept blowing particles into my face. I was fighting for breath most of the time, while trying to keep my eyes open. My lungs felt like they were on fire. Add to that the fact that I kept getting unavoidable phone calls while racing against the sunset, and you have the most challenging photoshoot yet. Believe me, I even have the physical bruises to prove it. Regardless of all that though, I'm quite happy with this shot. What do you think?
It's meant to portray ignorance - something I've been encountering all too often these days. Oh, the agony of being seventeen, and having to put up with your peers. -.-
"In the story I was told
Well, this was never mentioned,
Must have missed the chapter when
I was 17 years old,
And there's nothing left but love." - Ignorance | McFly
