The gravel bars in this creek are composed of a mixture of Pennsylvanian-aged sedimentary rocks derived from outcrops of the Pottsville Group and Allegheny Group.

 

Locality: Symmes Creek (= west-flowing tributary of the Muskingum River), just upstream from Mollies Rock Road bridge, between the towns of Dresden & Adamsville, Madison Township, northern Muskingum County, eastern Ohio, USA (40° 04' 59.65" North, 81° 57' 10.34" West)
