Blowing you a kiss goodbye :-)

Blowing you a kiss goodbye :-)

Another shot from the archives, I tried to come up with something new but it didn't work out and I don't really have the time to spend working on something else so this will have to do. And I thought it fitting since I'll be a taking a break from Flickr for the nest month or so.

I need to get on top of some things here at home, some renovations, looking after a friends horse farm for the next week or so and just every day life. I start falling behind and then end up getting overwhelmed with even the little things. You know all those little projects you start and never finish...that's me. I start something and then get a bright idea for something else...start that and soon I have a trail of unfinished projects. I betcha a lot of you women can relate :-)

Anyway, enjoy your February!
I'll pop by once and a while to check out your streams.

Finding peace among the chaos...

Finding peace among the chaos...

Hope you have a peaceful Sunday.

I have to confess mine didn't start out too well but I won't go into all the details. All I can say is that you can try and make life perfect, try and be organized so everything works out and there is no chaos but the most important thing is how will you react even if things don't work out as planned. Will more chaos be created by your wrong behaviour and attitude or will you remain calm despite things not working out. This morning I failed in that and created more chaos and stress…will I ever learn. But as my daughter pointed out I can try again next week :-)

So this is an old shot taken back in 2005 with the my point and shoot, the first digital camera I ever owned; it's our two girls out for an early morning paddle boat ride, the morning was beautiful with the mist and sunshine on the lake. I slid it for sliders Sunday and gave it this cool red/purple tone...peace amidst the intense colour. One day I will be able to manage to be peaceful even in the midst of chaos :-)

Have a relaxing Saturday

Have a relaxing Saturday

This is one of my favourite places on our property and I end up taking lots of shots out here, so this could be considered cliche. I love that little old cabin and look forward to fixing it up with my husband. It's only 9' x 14' but it'll make a cozy little place.

Often times the simple life looks so appealing - a small little cabin out in the woods. I always figure the more you have the busier your life will become. And in the end you can't take any of it with you. The only thing we really leave behind that has lasting value is how we've impacted the lives of others, whether that be our kids, friends or even strangers we cross paths with.

So in the business of life don't neglect what matters most. Sit back relax, enjoy a chat with a friend, play a game with your child, give them your undivided attention, visit those who can't get out and who don't have the freedoms you do. It's good for the heart and as much as you're giving, you're actually receiving too, life is funny that way.

Winters Jewels

Winters Jewels

One more fence shot that I took a few weeks ago after our freezing rain and snow.

It's amazing how much sunshine can change an image...change a day...change a mood...change your perspective, etc. There would be no sparkle in this image without the sunshine, the sun totally changes how this image appears. So be that sunshine in someones life and add some sparkle to their day :-)

Simple Beauty

Simple Beauty

Sometimes you have those days where you just can't seem to pull yourself up, where your motivation is missing, life feels empty and it's like you can't find that sweet spot where life is moving forward and it's good...today is one of those days. But in looking at this picture I am reminded that even though I may be down and life feels somewhat empty, the truth is there is still beauty to be found…there is life, even when it feels out of reach.

This bittersweet vine was hanging across a trail we were walking on the weekend, so I snapped a quick shot. When I look at it I see simple beauty, something so small that would have been missed if it hadn't been in my path…otherwise lost among the many trees in the forest…still there, still that simple beauty but unseen. It reminds me of life, who knows if you will be that moment of simple beauty that intersects someone's path…whether it be a kind smile, an acknowledgement, a gentle touch, a kind word…anything that breaths life into another. We never know what those simple, yet beautiful acts do in the lives of those we cross paths with.
