Original 1930s McCoy Hunting Dog Feeder
Wonderful vintage McCoy Pottery Company Stoneware dog bowl in green glaze.
This great dog bowl came in two sizes, 7" and a 5" opening,
In addition to the green glaze, a yellow and hard to find brown was offered. This bowl/feeder is also referred to a Hunting Dog Feeder and Retriever Bowl. This bowl has pointers and setters on point in tall grass embossed around the circumference of the bowl. The details are sharp and crisp.
While unmarked this bowl is widely attributed to McCoy and is referenced in more than one McCoy book as a recognized unmarked piece of McCoy pottery. See McCoy book by Huxford and the McCoy Pottery Collector's Reference Guide.
This bowl, the larger of the two sizes weighs almost 2 1/2 pounds. It measures 7 5/8" in diameter on the bottom, 7" at the top opening and is 2 1/2" high.
