Union School (1907)

The two-teacher school was located midway between Zephyrhills (then called Abbott) and Wesley Chapel. Prof. William Willard Truex (b. July 30, 1853, Morrow, Ohio; d. Jan. 30, 1922, Tampa) is standing to the left of the tree. His wife Mrs. Clara Truex is standing in front of the tree, as a special guest for the picture taking. Their daughter Vida Truex (later Mrs. Morley of Tampa) is standing in front of her mother. Miss Omah Geiger, the other teacher, is the other adult standing. C. Milton Truex is seated in front of Miss Geiger. His brother Loyola Truex is seated fifth from the left (with his head turned). Photo courtesy of Keith Bailey (e245).
