Tonshae ritual, a great memorial service, is held at Honmyoji Temple at the mausoleum of the feudal Lord Kiyomasa Kato on the day of his death. Tonshae takes it name from the episode on the third anniversary of Kato Kiyomasa. In the service, the head priest called the priests in the domain and made them transcribe the Lotus Sutra consisting of 69.384 letters in eight volumes in one night.
