      whats going to happen to the image when you turn the iPad to landscape mode? You will either get black bars on the side or the image will stretch to fill the screen. Yes the device has a resoultion of 1024 x 768, however you need to account for rotation. I'm thinking to be safe, any wallpaper needs to be designed for 1024 x 1024.
