Yesterday the bees moved in.

Yesterday the bees moved in.

I got a call that a swarm of bees had moved into a compost bin in a garden down the road. We went round, scooped them up and drove them home (still wearing our bee suits). Then I poured them out onto a sheet hanging from the entrance to the hive. And off they marched up into their new home.

The flying sockman

The flying sockman

My lad (who is train mad) has entered a competition to win a ride on the Flying Scotsman. He had to build a model of the famous steam engine and take it into the National Rail Museum in York. With a little help from Mum he constructed this master piece from old socks and pants.

The museum loved it and have shortlisted it for the prize. Now we need your help to win him his dream prize.

please email scotsmanvoting@nrm.org.uk with "vote for model #12"

Or have a look at the rest at www.nrm.org.uk/scotsmancomp

Big room camera obscura

Big room camera obscura

We put up the camera obscura again. The sunny snowy view was particularly good for it.
