Cornflower

Cornflower

I have been absent for so long here on Flickr. Sometimes you just get into a period, where other things get the priority. But anyway I will always get back to photography, even if I drift away. Sorry not having followed you so closely lately Friends!

This is just a simple cornflower. Elegant flower in a vivid sea of green. Nothing much to say really.

Sand Pump [EXPLORE]

Sand Pump [EXPLORE]

So I'm slowly getting back after a long Flickr break. I have recently moved back to Denmark, and focused on this and some of my many other interests. And I haven't been out shooting much.

But this one I caught at a recent trip with my son. The sand pumps are very important means of coast protection on the West coast of Denmark. The suck up sand from the Sea bottom further out and then go extremely close to the coast to pump it out. They can even "break in half" to empty the cargo compartment directly out of the bottom of the vessel.

This one's more or less straight out of the box. It received a luminosity mask in PS.

"Goodbye Brussels"

"Goodbye Brussels"

So that was it! We have left Brussels (for good) and moved to Denmark. What a pleasure to be back in a well organised country (sorry Belgian contacts). After one full day in the country all public registrations have been made without any trouble at all, and Internet is up and running. It has been a very educational stay in Belgium though.

This is a shot of the European Parliament. I actually have another shot in my stream from another point in time with a bit of the same expression, where I caught the reflection of a beautifully blue sky on a background of dark rainclouds. This one has gone through an exposure fusion in Photomatix.

My Happy Place

My Happy Place

Just to maintain some kind of Flickr activity, I found this selfie going through my archives from 2007 and decided to convey the feeling of sitting on a mountain summit in low autumn sunlight on a beautiful day bathed in golden light breathing crisp frosty and completely unspoiled mountain air and in utter silence. This is "as good as it gets" to me. No place on earth am I happier than trekking in the mountains of Norway (well a SUnday morning in bed is not to bad either).

This is from 2000m altitude in Jotunheimen National park in Norway. The view is South towards Bygdin lake

Have a nice weekend fellow Flickrites!

Norwegian Sunset

Norwegian Sunset

Still crappy weather. So I am digging into archives. This one is from a wonderful autumn trip I had to Jotunheimen in Norway back in 2007. Me all alone for a week in a tiny cabin with a fireplace and a good chair right at the foot of the mountains. Many people have completely misunderstood the notion of stress therapy and go see a doctor. Try Norway first.

The small lake is from the large alpine (above the tree limit) plateau Valdresflya at the rim of the Jotunheimen National Park. No filters used. Luminosity mask applied in PS and a bit of dodging of the foreground boulders.
