The Rock of Cashel Co. Tipperary Ireland

Another beautiful summer's day in Ireland, this time at Cashel in County Tipperary. Again I am playing tourist with my Australian cousins on their first visit to Ireland.

I love this view at any time of the day or night, it's from the Dublin to Cork road as it bends towards the town. The sight of the Rock never fails to take my breadth away.

I first visited this site as when I was eight years old on a school trip and it made a big impression on me. Sit with your back against the High Cross, close your eyes and you can hear and see Brian Ború King of Munster (eventually High King of Ireland) and his army and St. Patrick converting King Aenghus to Christiantiy. It all happened here.

Love this shot. it reminds me of my younger days, passing this landscape travelling from dublin to fish the Cork Blackwater. I don't think I ever saw it in bright sunshine like this though.
