Meet Acutisoma unicolor! It's about the size of a small child's face !!! Look at the size of those fangs !! This wan't a macro shot - it took up the whole of the viewfinder. You can see a crane fly and other normal size fly next to it for size comparison.
This Power-Rangers styled arachnid is a type of giant harvestman - Brazil's answer to the Daddy-long-legs!! They are nocturnal - this was on the wall of the pool house and crept out from the gutter. Imagine picking up your towel after a night-time dip and getting THAT all over your face !!
Look how tiny the normal sized fly by its left foot is !
