This is a photo of a Chinese golden pheasant who graciously agreed to pose for me on my last visit to the Bloedel Conservatory. Although I have posted quite a few shots of this bird, its fantastic colors and imperious character are hard to resist. The shot was taken in low light and the dark bokeh is natural. For those of you who are curious about my reference to the "Sun King," compare this bird to some of the old drawings of France's Louis XIV. The photo was taken in June 2012, with my trusty Olympus digital camera. Enjoy.
