Untitled

This past weekend, I tried to accomplish a concept I had in mind but what I was trying to set ablaze wouldn't catch on fire and since it was at the beach with a bit of harsh sunlight, it didn't quite work. I'm still going to try and accomplish getting that done but does anybody have any suggestions as to how I would actually be able to ("safely") set something ablaze? Instead of just burning it...

This is a picture from earlier this month that I took and developed for photography class. :)

The other picture. This is my awesome friend, who I (obviously) hung out with. I wish I had photoshop so I could have used the brenizer method (or perhaps understood GIMP better?).

I think this would be a pretty cool place to do a 'shoot, with all the surfboards, the chains, and different colors.

Reach for the top of the surfboards!

Reach for the top of the surfboards!

Because I feel the need to upload something... and I'm short and these boards are tall. ):

Anyway, I was unable to go to Makapu`u with my friends, one of the reasons being that it was cloudy but that was just one reason. I was bummed. I was really excited to go, take pictures, chill out, and have fun. After that, I just got really down in the dumps. To the point where I cried (although this emotional thing was caused by many different factors, not being able to go to Makapu`u wasn't one of them). I felt like shit. But... after listening to Eminem. I felt better. Texted my friend. Asked her if she wanted to go to the beach. And we hung out, I swam, took pictures, ate, and talked. That turned my day around. Thank goodness for friends and Hawaii. And it being cold but warm.

And I just shared too much. HAAHAHA. And now I'm going to have creepy people look at this photo.

Information about Poke, for you non-locals. If you're curious as to what restaurant this is from, here is where you can find out (and you can watch some food being made + talks about Lau Lau).

Apart from that, although I am not necessarily getting better pictures or feel like I'm improving, I think I've found a little more inspiration (or a "niche", of sorts). I am going to try and do a series that is based around Hawaiian Myths/Legends/Stories, this will (hopefully) be a mix of modern clothing as well as more traditional Hawaiian clothing. I have a lot of ideas (although I'm not sure if I'll be able to make them become a reality). I am also going to try and do more 'shoots at the beach. I wish I could drive legally as well, it would allow me to explore much easier.
