Comet Lovejoy

Comet Lovejoy

Zoom in to see it on black - much clearer then

I have been getting up early every morning for the last two weeks or so in the quest for cloudless dawn skies to catch this comet before it faded away, and did finally manage it on Boxing Day. This is just a single frame from the Lumix, I'd hope to stack some multiple shots if I can find a program for a mac, or do it in CS4.

It is very faint, it was much brighter a week or so prior but we had heavy cloud. If you go to the larger view so it shows on black it is easier to see.

26 Dec 2011; 0442, Terranora looking east, NSW far north coast, Australia (P1080495) Lumix FZ35, f2.8, 30 secs, ISO 200. [Note the Flickr map location says Tweed Heads but this is INCORRECT (I find it is often wrong) the photo was taken from Wichelsea Way in Terranora looking ESE.]

Season's Greetings!

Season's Greetings!

To all my Flickr friends and contacts.

This is my annual Photoshop 'masterpiece' put together for the Christmas cards. This year I got them printed at Vista Print and was very pleased with the result and much easier than doing it at home.

My 2012 Calendars

My 2012 Calendars

It’s the time of the year again when our thoughts turn to calendars for the year forthcoming. I have 6 designs for sale this year. While some calendar titles are the same at least 50% of images have been updated in each calendar, with all new images in some.

Browse through all the calendar images and order online at my RedBubble store (www.redbubble.com/people/analog6/shop/calendars). Postage discounts apply to multiple items - the more you order the cheaper per item postage becomes.

Shooters Kiln mono treatment #2

Shooters Kiln mono treatment #2

A revisit of the Shooter's Kiln shots converted to mono.

The 'weeds' in the foreground are actually hop plants gone to seed in the edges of the paddock (which now grazes sheep). Thus they are the raison d'etre for the oast house and very appropriate to be included

The Possums in Tasmania are very bold!

The Possums in Tasmania are very bold!

This bold chap came in the door at fellow RedBubbler Brett’s house – that’s the doorsill behind him – and walked right over my foot to get at that apple Brett is holding. He had a good explore round the room, too!
