Made a bit of a schoolboy error this morning. Decided to get up early on my last day of annual leave to catch the sunrise in the lakes (after spending ages lying in bed deliberating!). So off I set, trundling up the motorway when a dawning realisation struck me; my memory card was last seen sticking out of my laptop rather than in my camera and I didn't have a spare one in my bag. Still, it was a nice drive in the dark for an hour to end up back at home...

    Here's a shot that I didn't take today.

I keep an old card in my bag at all times in case I do this! Only had to use twice this year!

I havent made that mistake yet, but I am sure it will happen someday. But I keep a spare card in the bag as well.
Love this shot. The classic foreground rocks and an impressive background with those mountains.

Thanks you everyone. Spare card now nicked from the missus' point and shoot camera and stashed in my bag. Ventured out again this evening but captured the square root of bugger all, so obviously not my day. Oh well!

This shot just shows that when you do remember your memory card you take stunning images.

Whoops! Still, you have a beautiful shot of Buttermere to reflect on (sorry, terrible pun).

I've got a bruise on my leg from kicking myself when I do things like that! Still, this one's a beauty, really serene.

Yes it was a bad pun! Thanks for the sentiment though :-)
Thanks I'd have probably missed had I tried kicking myself....
