IC #36 - Creative Activities - Baby quilt
I've never entered anything in a fair, in part because I have trouble finishing things in time, so it's rather fitting that this week's craft challenge falls in the unfinished category. This is the top for a baby quilt my daughters and I started for my nephew. The white blocks were given to us to embroider, but my daughters have never done embroidery and teaching them how in the short amount of time between when we were given the blocks and when my nephew was born wasn't something that I was looking to take on. I also don't think they'd have the patience for it either. So I gave them some crayons and had them color the pictures in. Then, I set it with the iron. This is about the size of quilt that the kit would make (I had them color half the blocks from the kit and substituted green ones for the other half), but I'm thinking maybe we should make it a little bigger? Each block is about 8 inches now that they're sewn together.
