Distant Sounds of Summer

Distant Sounds of Summer

A lovely weekend, or; A shot of Helen looking inquisitively at something in the snow.

I visited Helen at her new house over the weekend. There was a party with carrot cake and waffles and a lot of good chatting. And lots of snow. Wonderful

Here is Ben, who is one of my longest running friends (and strangely I think this is the first photo i've ever uploaded of him on here) and his lovely lady Liz, who gave me a bit of a surprise visit in Brighton last week. Certainly not a lot of things nicer than a day spent with good people.

Here is a little test shot I tried out using some of the equipment I have unearthed while working at the University of Sussex media department. I have appointed my main task as trying to tidy their studio up and keep it all a bit more organised for students and external clients. While doing so I found a whole bunch of coloured gels and adapters and softboxes that I don't think anyone has ever really properly used. So now they're all out nicely on shelves and I'm creating a little handbook with a sentence describing each bit of equipment.

I feel it's a productive way to spend my time.

Hello and Happy New Year Flickr! I think this is the first time in a few years I haven't done a reflection over my past year and that is because I was too damn busy having fun to edit photos or even think about writing anything down. Now I have two jobs I have even less time to do things like that =(

(I got a new job as an assistant media tech/student support type thing at Sussex University just before Christmas. Puuuurrrrrfect!)

So here I offer you a Good Luck Panda necklace, made by the talented Jacques Keogh (I'm not sure if he has a website, I will link it as soon as I find out...if it exists...) for my lovely girlfriend Helen. It's designed from the album cover for "Animals" by This Town Needs Guns, an album that I associate with a lot of good things and fun times.

Happy New Year
